To Reach You in the Stars

Close my eyes and listen,

Truth be told, there is none at all.

With these eyes so closed shut,

A whisper of a dream,

The dream shatters like broken, painted glass.

Eyes are open to reality,
Where nothing ever truly was there.

Every night I send out a wish,
I send it to the moon, in hopes you will see it too.

So now I sleep,
Laying down, a weight pushing in my chest.
Holding in the tears, I feel you there,
Arms draped around my waist,
Now I'm dreaming, for I reach once more,
Broken hopes and dreams is what my fingers touch.
Only the air, nothing more.

So I close my eyes and listen,

Reaching out, with the deep wish upon the starts.

Upon the wings of my waking dreams I shall smile,
